One of the many reasons that I love living in London is the amount of amazing food on offer. New restaurants are constantly being added to the list of old favorites. There is always something exciting, quirky and tasty to try. The only challenge is keeping up with all of London’s best new restaurants! I have a few sources for keeping up including our influencers, but on this occasion, I wanted something different!

For our first content creators meetup I was looking for a Central place, high-end dining, but without a stuffy setting. It had to feel cozy,  just as comfortable as you’re being at home! The Great Chase nailed it! As more members started to arrive, we paired two long tables and sat together for a good four hours. We laughed, exchanged food memories and more importantly tried every single delicious dish on their menu!

What to Eat?

If you decide to visit The Great Chase more than once while you are in London, then you should not be surprised to see a different menu. Radoslaw Nitkowski, the Head Chef is always improving his recipes, trying out new flavours and techniques to make the menu even more enticing.

Locality and supporting local communities is central not just to everyone at Local Spoon but to The Great Chase too. It sources local ingredients in all of its markets and is developing a growing network of organic and sustainable farms across the country. Ordering from The Great Chase feels like you’re a part of something bigger than a steak. Its emphasis on free-range, corn-fed chicken and healthy, grass-fed lamb and beef makes going there feel bespoke and intentional. You’re not just ordering a meal because it’s healthy, delicious, ethical or easy — but because it’s all of those and more.

What to drink?

Aperol Spritz is my particular favourite for the summer and here at The Great Chase I got to try the alcohol-free version. I couldn’t believe it actually tastes better than the original drink, thanks to William Wragg. He is the restaurant’s cordial alchemist and a real storyteller who spins his magic to create truly unique cocktails!

PALAMINO – (Mexican favourite, reinvented) – Pink grapefruit cordial, agave syrup, lime, coconut water

ELDERFLOWER ROYALE – (fresh, floral) – Elderflower cordial, Bee’s Knees Brut, cucumber, elderflower & lemon mist

And the best is yet to come!

Another passion of Will and Rollo (one of the managers) is Tea. Their list of fine teas (courtesy of the Rare Tea Company) is three pages long and they keep adding new flavours all the time. The only question is: how long would it take to try every possible combination? I think for that task, I’d happily volunteer as tribute.

As a wine lover and I was very impressed to discover the tea has as broad a taste spectrum as wine!

Rollo, Co-Founder The Great Chase, sharing brewing tips and stories

Keemun Tea became my favourite from the moment I opened the lid and felt a delicate hint of smoky wood with a bit of sweetness added to it. I learned it’s actually the note of caramel which is completed by fresh straw, chocolate and soft distant smoke from charcoal roasting.
